When will GRANDMA 5 be released and how many entries will it include?
Despite earlier reports that it would be ready by January 2006 (and then mid-2006), it appears that GRANDMA 5 will not be released until late 2006. We apologize for the delay and any frustration this has caused for customers. The problem arose due to a pair of conflicting commitments that we tried to make. One commitment was to contributors of data, who were told that data submitted by a certain date would definitely be included in GRANDMA 5. We got so much data, however, that we could not honor that commitment while at the same time honoring our other commitment to release GRANDMA 5 by a specific date in 2006. We're working as hard as our volunteer staff can to get GRANDMA 5 ready.
We are making an interim release (GRANDMA 4.23) available now. It is available to anyone who has previously purchased GRANDMA 4.0 or 4.1 for an additional $10.
GRANDMA 5 will have data on over 900,000 individuals.
